Virtual Site Information
The hallmark of the University of Florida program is our ability to unite audiologists from around the country in discussions about topics central to our profession. Each student is part of a community of audiologists. The Virtual Site facilitates student participation in the nation's premier Au.D. program (Travel not required).
The Virtual Site allows students regardless of geographic location to:

The University of Florida Distance Learning Au.D. Program features exceptional student support and state-of-the-art technology to ensure each student is provided a world-class learning experience. Both models offer an equivalent education and are designed to meet the needs of a diverse working population.
In both models, students:
• view recorded lectures given by the course instructor (s) and content area experts.
• read material in textbooks and current trade journals.
• take part in online chats with the course instructor(s) on weekday evenings.
• take part in online chats with doctoral-level group facilitators and classmates on weekday evenings.
• interact daily via online discussion boards with course instructor(s), students and
group facilitators.
• complete independent assignments such as virtual clinics and research papers.
• take online quizzes in course management system (E-Learning).
• give presentations in online chat rooms on weekday evenings.
In the Virtual Site Model, students:
• take proctored final exams at a local community college or university.
• complete clinical competencies online with group facilitator with the use of innovative online technologies.
• interact with guest speakers in online chat rooms on weekday evenings and/or weekends.
• share final project presentations in online chat rooms on weekday evenings and/or weekends.
In the Regional Site Model, students:
• meet face-to-face in regional site meetings on Saturdays and Sundays approximately every 8 weeks.
• take paper-and-pencil final exams on the final day of each course.
• complete clinical competencies with regional facilitators.
• interact with guest speakers on the first day of the course.
• share final project presentations.
In addition to the Virtual Site, regional sites are available in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and New York.
